Kate Barber

Kate uses creative ballet to create happy kids. She takes on the role of experience architect, creating one-of-a-kind classes and events to share her love of storytelling and dance and to foster meaningful connections with those around her.

Kate is a mum of two young adults and a former contemporary dancer with 30 years teaching experience. She previously ran her own ballet school, Big Steps Little Feet in Bondi and Balmain and is now a fulltime primary school teacher with the Department of Education. Kate has a Bachelor of Arts in Dance, Masters in Education and is a RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) registered teacher.

"One of my gifts is helping children to become more confident and imaginative in their everyday lives. I show them how to tap into their DNA of creativity and become skilled technicians of dance so that they can fall in love with the performing arts and culture, but more importantly, go on to make the difference they're destined to make."
