Elise Farrar
ARAD RAD RTS, Solo Seal

Elise started dancing from the age of 4 years old, studying Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance, National Character, Jazz, Flamenco, Pilates and Tap. At the age of 11, she began her training with Ashley Killar, Jane Allyn, and Kit Lethby at Ecole Ballet and Dance Theatre. Elise graduated from the 2 year Full time Vocational Ballet Training course at Ecole Ballet during which time she completed all of her RAD ballet exams and her HSC Dance.

Further training was gained at Elmhurst Ballet and Dance School, in association with The Birmingham Royal Ballet, Birmingham, UK. They accepted Elise to join their 2 year Full time course in Ballet and Contemporary Dance including the Academic A Levels. She had the opportunity to be trained by Irek and Masha Mukhamedov, and many local and international guest teachers. Elise was awarded the Upper School Choreographic prize, judged by David Bintley, Jonathan Payne and Bruce Sampson. The following year she was the recipient of the Upper School Academic Dance award in her final year.

Elise was a finalist in the Isobel Anderson Awards, gained 3rd place in SODA, Senior Scholarship, has been a semi-finalist in the Sydney Performing Arts Scholarship and the Alana Haines Australasian Awards Scholarship in New Zealand. She attended the Prix de Lausanne, Switzerland Ballet competition and was the recipient of the Marten Bequest Travelling Ballet Scholarship ($18,000). Elise successfully performed in many eisteddfods and was a recipient of 1st, 2nd and third placements.

Whilst in the UK, Elise travelled to Swansea, Wales, Chesham, UK, and Perth, Scotland to perform in Swan Lake and Giselle. At Elmhurst Ballet and Dance School, she danced as a Friend in Coppelia and was cast as Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, choreographed by Irek Mukhamedov in the UK.

Many opportunities were gained as a student at Ecole Ballet and Dance, performing soloist roles and pas de deux. Elise has also attended many Master classes in Sydney and Summer Schools at the Australian Ballet School.

In April 2016, Elise worked with Ashley Killar at the Cape Town City Ballet, South Africa, teaching the company his ballet Sarabande.

She has a large interest in Health and Fitness and has completed numerous half and full marathons.
