Mia StClair
Mia first began dancing at 3 years old with baby ballet classes, and her love for dance has only continued to grow over the years. She began her training in ballet (where she completed her exams up to Advanced Foundation), before expanding to undertake lyrical, jazz, hip hop, acro, contemporary and musical theatre classes throughout her journey. She began competing in ballet eisteddfods at 10 years old, and by 13, she was successfully competing and placing in Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop and Ballet troupes as well as nurturing various solos and duos. Even during her Year 12 HSC, Mia committed to competing in the Ecole 16/U Hip Hop troupe which successfully achieved 1st, 2nd and 3rd at all of their eisteddfods.
Mia is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Applied Science in Exercise Physiology at the University of Sydney, where she hopes to eventually work with dancers in injury rehabilitation. Mia has always had a passion for dancing and expressing emotion through dance. She continued her dance classes as she completed her HSC to achieve a balance of exercise and happiness within her heavy courseload.
Dance has always been a huge part of Mia’s life. She has journeyed through 3 different studios, before finding Ecole at 14 years old, where she took one class and knew it was the place for her. Ecole was the environment that supported her as she grew and matured, and nurtured her passion for dance into a love that will continue to shape her for the rest of her life. Mia is so excited to join the staff at Ecole to love and support younger dancers in the same way that Ecole loved her.
