Updated 21 March 2020

As you have all heard about the worldwide pandemic, Coronavirus/COVID-19, we are updating this page to let our Ecole families know how we are ensuring the highest precautions in managing the virus from reaching our dance centre.

We are following the Department of Health and Department of Education guidelines on updates and directives in relation to the virus. Students who are excluded from attending Ecole for 14 days are those who departed from or transited through:

  • Mainland China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan) since 1 February 2020

  • Iran since 1 March 2020

  • South Korea since 5 March 2020

  • Italy since 11 March 2020

  • in line with the latest policy of the Australian Government, should your child or any member of your family return from overseas you will be required to self isolate for 14 days.

  • have been diagnosed with COVID-19

  • have had closed contact with a confirmed case of COVDI-19 infection

During this time, you should be alert for symptoms related to a fever or other respiratory symptoms. We ask that all families comply with this advice in order to ensure the health and safety of our students. As this is a rapidly evolving issue, we are advising families to closely monitor State and Federal Department of Health webpages.

If you do plan to travel overseas, we urge you to check the latest travel advice from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and be mindful that new quarantine or travel restrictions may be implemented while you are away. With the growing number of countries reporting outbreaks, the risk of international travel continues to grow. If you have travelled overseas in the past 14 days, please don't come to Ecole if you are feeling unwell.

Within the dance centre, we have implemented the following student procedures and ask that you help by ensuring your child follows these:

  • we have hand sanitiser stations in every studio and all students will sanitise their hands at the start and end of each class

  • we have a hand sanitiser station in the ground floor foyer for parents/carers to utilise

  • please keep students at home if they are unwell (sore throat, cough, fever) and advise us via

  • students are to wash their hands well with soap and water when going to the toilet

  • remind your child to cough and sneeze into their elbow and wash their hands after blowing their nose

  • in line with the Government's social distancing policy, we have removed all chairs from the foyer areas and our studios clearly display how many people can be in that space at anyone time

We have also implemented the following procedures for our teachers and our cleaning regime:

  • in addition to our normal cleaning, we will be disinfecting everyday; the barres, equipment used in classes, door handles, foyer chairs, handrails, bin lids and bathroom surfaces

  • teachers will also sanitise their hands at the start and end of each lesson

  • equipment used for Acro or Pilates/Stretch and Conditioning will be sanitised before and after each class use
